Vicky Lewis has built multiple businesses over the past 20 years. Her coffee house, roastery and bakery being the largest and most lucrative, breaking the $1M threshold and employing up to 28 part time staffers.

She launched the coffee business in 2012 on a dusty road in the Texas Hill Country when all of the businesses around hers were shuttering.

Her coffee house, Mazama Coffee Co - still in operation today, breathed new life into the small community on the outskirts of Austin, Texas and created a rebirth of the downtown historical center of Dripping Springs.

Her intent was to create a coffee shop for the community where meeting spaces were hard to find and closed up early. Over the decade that she built the business, she added coffee roasting and a bakery to the operations. She added merchandise to the shelves, supported community events and ensured exemplary service, quality and consistency across her services and products.

After a well-deserved cry when Texas shut-down services due to COVID, she set to work guiding her business through the uncertainty of a pandemic. She was forced to make quick and decisive moves to adapt to the new challenges as they arose. Surprisingly, due to the pandemic her business became more resilient, with better systems + controls in place (none of it possible without the incredible support of her family + staff).

Those systems allowed her to continue to build the business, make capital improvements, buy the 6,000 square foot commercial space that houses the coffee shop, launch a retail boutique, take vacations, and travel to Europe for her son’s wedding all while scaling her coffee business.

She now shares those hard-won lessons, systems and tools to help other coffee entrepreneurs improve, scale + build the businesses and lifestyles they deserve.

Vicky holds a B.S. in Finance and worked for 15 years as a Group Program Manager at Microsoft where she managed an international team in the Windows Division.
